Bobby Hassell and Martin Devaney have become the first players to pledge their immediate future to the club by penning two year deals that will tie them to Oakwell until 2009.
Both players have adapted well to the Championship after playing key roles in last season's promotion.
Bobby has made 120 appearances for the Reds scoring four goals since signing for Paul Hart in the summer of 2004 from Mansfield Town but is suspended until the final game of the season.
Martin has made 89 appearances scoring 14 goals (including six this campaign) since signing for Andy Ritchie in August 2005 after a very brief stint at Watford.
The Reds have also been boosted by the news that youngsters Robert Atkinson and Rhys Meynell have extended their contracts. Atkinson, who has made seven appearances for the first team this season has joined Hassell and Devaney by signing until 2009 whilst Meynell has signed until 2008.
