No Move For Parker

Blackpool striker Keigan Parker will not be moving to Oakwell after both parties failed to come to an agreement.

As revealed on TykesMad last week, Barnsley had a £200,000 bid accepted for the striker who has hit 41 goals for the Seasiders since joining in 2004, but has yet to notch in the Championship.

Chairman Gordon Shepherd and Manager Simon Davey offered Parker a contract they believe befitted an unproven Championship player but the 25 year has turned down the offer, that says Davey and assistant Ryan Kidd is it.

Speaking to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk Davey said:

"In any negotiation process there is always a difference in opinion. It's safe to say that Keigan's opinion and the Club's opinion differ.

"We made him an offer which we believed was appropriate for an unproven Championship striker. He has turned this offer down and that is now the end of the matter".

Whilst Kidd told the Sheffield Star:

"We've made him a reasonable offer. If he wants to play Championship football at a good, progressive club, he knows where to come".

It is now believed Parker will move back down to League One and join league leader Swansea City.
