Interesting Stats:

Cardiff have won exactly double the amount of meetings as Barnsley and have lost just one of their last eight home matches against The Reds dating back to 1984.

Indeed The Bluebirds have lost just two of the last 15 home or away, both of them coming in the same season when The Reds did the double over the Welsh side in 2009-2010.

Victory for Cardiff tomorrow would give them their sixth double over Barnsley. Three of them have come in the last six years.

Both sides drew 0-0 at the weekend, it was Barnsley’s first of the season and only Cardiff’s fourth. The two sides have only ever shared two goal-less draws in 91 years of meeting.

Cardiff City have beaten seven teams home and away this season, Blackburn, Birmingham, Leeds, Millwall, Blackpool, Sheffield Wednesday and Wolves.

The Bluebirds have kept clean sheets in three of their last four matches.

Malky Mackay’s table toppers have won 14 home games this season, the best in the division and bettered only by Northampton in the Football League.

Their two home defeats- to Peterborough in December and Brighton in February is the joint lowest in the Championship, along with Crystal Palace where The Reds gained a valuable point at the weekend.

Cardiff have conceded just 13 goals at the Cardiff City Stadium this season, the best record in the Football League. Out of the top five divisions of English football only Manchester City and Chelsea have conceded less league goals in front of their own supporters.

Overall Cardiff have won 24 and lost nine of their 40 league games, the best win and loss records in the division.

Barnsley now have the same points tally as they had at the end of the 2011-2012 campaign. Victory tomorrow would see them hit the 50 point mark for the sixth time in seven seasons since returning to the Championship.

Barnsley have netted 27 times on their travels this season, better than their final away tallies in both 2010-2011 and 2011-2012. One more away goal will equal their 2009-2010 total.

The Reds are hunting for their fourth win in six matches, but their first on the road in six away trips.

Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace on Saturday ended their incredible scoring run after 17 successive league games.

Like Cardiff, The Reds have kept clean sheets in three of their last four matches, including the last two. It is over two years since Barnsley last kept three successive clean sheets.

Barnsley have managed only one victory against a current top five side- Watford- and they have not beaten any of the top eight away from home.
