Interesting Stats:

Barnsley are unbeaten against Leeds in their last six meetings, winning four of them.

Last season The Reds did the league double over their West Yorkshire neighbours for the first time in 22 years.

The Reds have smashed in 19 goals in their last six meetings with Leeds, including seven in three at Elland Road.

Leeds manager Neil Warnock, born and bred in Sheffield, spent two years as a Barnsley winger between 1976 and 1978, and in 32 years as a manager has won 4 lost 6 and drawn 8 against Barnsley with eight different clubs.

Warnock has though made Leeds into sterner stuff than in recent years and the Whites have won three and drawn one of their past four league matches.

Leeds have scored two goals in each of their last five matches and only Blackpool, Bristol City and Burnley have scored more Championship goals this season.

They have though conceded 16 times- the joint most in the top half, and two more than Barnsley.

The Reds have failed to win either of their two home matches since thumping Birmingham 5-0 in their last away outing.

That incredible triumph in the Midlands was The Reds first victory on the road since January and the last time they won two away games in succession was back in November/December 2011 when Leeds were one of the victims.

Barnsley saw their run of scoring in every league games this season end on Tuesday night but Leeds have scored in all nine league matches in 2012-2013.

Barnsley have the leakiest away defence in the Championship having conceded 10 goals in four matches on the road.
