Interesting Stats:

Wolves are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Barnsley dating back to December 2007 but have failed to win any of their last four visits to Oakwell.

The home side has not lost this fixture since October 2000 when Kevin Muscat and Temuri Ketsbaia helped Wolves to a 2-1 win at Oakwell.

Both sides have won seven away meetings whilst Wolves have won 24 at Molineux and Barnsley 21 at Oakwell.

Wolves have failed to score a goal at Oakwell in three of their last four trips. They managed it in the most recent meeting in South Yorkshire however when Kyel Reid equalised in a 1-1 draw to seal the Championship title for the Midlanders back in 2009.

The two sides meet in very different circumstances tonight. Wolves lie just one point and one place above Barnsley at the foot of the Championship. Barnsley lie in 22nd position, Wolves 21st.

Wolves have failed to win any of their last ten games in all competitions. A run, which has taken them from 13th in the table, 13 points clear of the relegation zone, to 21st, just one point above.

It is not their longest winless run in the past year as they failed to win any of their final 14 matches of 2011-2012 and were relegated from the Premier League.

They are the only Championship side yet to register a win in 2013 and have conceded at least two goals in three of their four matches.

Wolves have kept just two clean sheet in their last 12 matches.

Barnsley have won seven of their nine matches in 2013. They won only ten in the whole of 2012.

The Reds have won five matches on the bounce for the first time since 1996 when they defeated Huddersfield, Reading, Rochdale, Manchester City and Stoke. They have not won six successive matches for 33 years! They last achieved this feat in 1980 when they defeated Plymouth, Chester, Carlisle, Exeter, Hull and Portsmouth in the old Third Division. The Reds were on an astonishing run at the time and won 13 out of 16 matches, including those six in a row. They finished that season in second position, just two points behind the champions Rotherham and were promoted to the Second Division, where they would remain until promotion to the Premier League 16 years later.

Barnsley have scored at least twice in each of their last four matches. It took them 25 matches to score at least twice in four matches before this.

Remarkably Barnsley have won just one of their last 14 Tuesday night matches- the most recent one- whilst Wolves have won  none of their last six. Their last Tuesday night victory was against Barnsley back in August.
