Martin Devaney, Marciano Van Homoet and Istvan Ferenczi missed the dismal weekend defeat at Yeovil and they have been joined in the treatment room by Dennis Souza, Iain Hume, Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Hugo Colace who all suffered knocks at Huish Park.
Reds boss Simon Davey told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:
"There is nothing really you can do to prevent the kind of slight strains we are picking up at the moment. Dennis, Iain and Jamal all picked up slight problems at Yeovil while Hugo has a tight hamstring after training today.
"You will always pick up these little strains through pre-season but we are working extremely hard to make sure they're only minor things. We work very hard on injury prevention and to limit those risks".
