Nyatanga first joined the Reds in January 2007 and two more loan spells followed in the next two seasons. Altogether he played 51 times for the Reds and scored twice.
The Robins look set to snap him up for £500,000 though, after he fell out of favour with Rams boss Nigel Clough.
