Oakwell Ticket Rush!!!

Last updated : 04 February 2008 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

Over 1500 Barnsley fans were stood in the freezing cold at Oakwell this morning as tickets for the eagerly anticipated FA Cup Fifth Round tie at Premier League giants Liverpool went on sale at 9am.

I myself joined a rather large queue at 7am, but some fans had been queuing since 5am and before!

By around 8am the queue had stretched around the side of the Pontefract Road End and into the middle of the main car park!

The club announced at noon that 1200 of the 6000 tickets had been sold in the first three hours of trading.

It is now highly likely all the allocation will be snapped up by season ticket holders today!
