Official statement from Peter Ridsdale regarding Administration process

Last updated : 03 November 2003 By Mad Tyke
Following the takeover of the football club, I know a lot of people are keen to be kept up to date with the latest position.

Today (Mon 3rd November), I have had discussions with the Administrator, Mick Maguire from the PFA and representatives of the Football League.

I have also been in correspondence with the Football Association. All parties have enthusiastically welcomed our takeover of Barnsley Football Club and have assured me of their commitment to work with us to get us out of Administration as soon as possible.
The next steps...
Within the next 48 hours it is anticipated that the Administrator will be writing to the creditors to confirm their acceptance of the finalisation of the CVA. This process can take up to two weeks.

We have today submitted documentation to the Football League and to the PFA as a part of the process of finalising the necessary paperwork for them to restore the league share to us.

It is anticipated that this process should be completed at or about the same time as the Administrators work.

We have also formally requested in writing the restoration of our membership of The Football Association. We still need to complete a 15-point questionnaire for the FA, which will be done during this week.

Whilst this process is frustrating, we are now entering the final stages. We will move as quickly as the proper procedures will allow us.

I will keep you up to date with progress. In the meantime rest assured that we will move as quickly as possible and that all parties are working with us for the completion of this final hurdle.
