Interesting to note:

Barnsley’s glorious maiden Premier League adventure ended on this day 19 years ago. The fans sang long and loud in the pouring rain at Oakwell, talking about coming back, but yet we still wait.

This would prove to be a curtain call for captain Neil Redfearn who finished as the leading scoring English midfielder in the top flight and move onto Charlton

The attendance of 18,694 was Oakwell’s biggest in its Premier League fling.
