Barnsley have today swooped to secure one of the National League’s top scorers in Stefan Payne from Dover Athletic.
The 24 year old who started his career with Fulham scored 18 goals in 45 games for the Whites in 2015-2016 (and was also sent off twice) helping them to 5th place and the play-offs where they were beaten 2-1 on aggregate by Forest Green.
Payne has had a very prolific spell in his two years at the Crabble Athletic Ground, netting 33 times in 79 starts which included 16 times last season.
Payne has signed a two-year deal at Oakwell with the option of another year after his Dover contract expired.
