Goal-keeper David Preece has become the latest player to pledge his immediate future to Barnsley Football Club by signing a new contract to take him until the summer of 2011.

Preece, 33, was signed on a free transfer last summer by former manager Simon Davey to act as cover for number one keeper Luke Steele and the former Sunderland stopper has made five appearances for The Reds, the last of which was the 5-2 defeat at Queens Park Rangers in September.

Preece joins captain Stephen Foster and fellow defender Luke Potter in penning new deals with a fresh contract for top scorer Daniel Bogdanovic believed to be imminent.
