QUARTET SIGN FOR THE REDS

Well, at least we can say we've had an eventful day today! Barnsley have signed no fewer than FOUR (4) players today, the same amount of players that Andy Ritchie signed over the entire summer.

These players are Ronnie Wallwork who joins from West Brom. Kyel Reid the left winger who signs from West Ham United. Grant McCann the Northern Irish international midfielder who signs on loan from Cheltenham Town with a view to a permanent move and last but by no means least, Leon Knight from Swansea City who joins with a view to a permanent move. All four join on loan until January 1st, 2007.

Knight had been rumoured to sign a couple of weeks ago but former boss Andy Ritchie poured cold water over speculation of the Hackney born striker joining.

Also at Oakwell, muchly criticised striker Tommy Wright has left the club to join League Two leaders Walsall on loan. Wright, 22 has netted only two goals in 41 appearances for the Reds.

The Reds have been hit with a bit of bad news however as winger Michael McIndoe has joined Championship rivals Wolves on loan with a view to a permanent deal in January.

McIndoe who only joined in the summer from Doncaster Rovers for a fee of around £125k has been a revelation in a difficult season so far, scoring 5 goals in 20 appearances.

This though could give new signing Kyel Reid a debut start on Saturday as The Reds never seem able to have two maccas in the squad. Stephen McPhail's departure saw Michael McIndoe come in and now McIndoe has departed Grant McCann has arrived!!!!!

Meanwhile, rumoured Reds target Ugo Ehiogu has joined Leeds United on loan.

So, all in all it's been a busy day at Oakwell. All four new signings will be in the squad to face Ipswich Town on Saturday at Oakwell and maybe things could be looking up for the SUPER REDS!!!
