He said: "Obviously I have massive ties with Barnsley having spent a large and successful part of my career there.
"I am contracted to Scarborough until the end of the season and we are currently talking about a new deal.
"Nothing is definite from any party and you can't judge what offers will come in. I have a great deal of affection for Barnsley and their supporters."
