Barnsley have raided FA Cup surprise package Worcester City to capture right back George Williams.

The 21 year old has signed an 18-month contract at Oakwell until June 2016.

The MK Dons scholar has played a key role in the Conference North side’s run to the second round of this season’s FA Cup, which included a 2-1 win at Barnsley’s League One rivals Coventry and they were desperately unlucky to go out to Scunthorpe in the second round via the longest penalty shootout in FA Cup history.

Williams told the club’s official website:

"It hasn't really sunk in to be honest. I'm absolutely delighted to be here.

"I only heard about the interest a couple of days ago and now I'm here, so it's been a bit of a whirlwind."
