The Reds have pulled off the signing of Blackburn Rovers striker Maceo Rigters on a season long loan.

Rigters, 24, won the Golden Boot in the under 21 European Championships for the Netherlands in 2007 hitting four goals in five games, including a bicycle kick against England which can be seen here.

Rigters started his career at Heerenveen before moving onto Dordecht where he netted 8 goals in 17 games. NAC Breda saw his talent and signed him where he operated as a midfielder and scored 5 goals in 61.

Blackburn beat off competition from Celtic and Newcastle to sign the Dutchman in 2007.

He will go straight into tomorrow's squad to face QPR.
