Andy Ritchie has today announced that he is confident of securing the signing of left winger Anthony McParland from Celtic by the end of the week.
23-year-old McParland joined the Reds at the beginning of the month from Celtic on trial after Ritchie had heard good things about him.
Ritchie told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk : "The chairman has agreed terms with the player.
"There shouldn't be any problems and hopefully he'll be in the squad to face Tranmere on Saturday."
