Barnsley have completed the signing of striker Marlon Harewood on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old former Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Blackpool forward will spend his second spell with the Reds following a ten game loan spell in the second half of the 2010/11 season under Mark Robins.

Keith Hill has been actively seeking a striker since Mido injured a hamstring in the warm-up before the clash with Doncaster Rovers and Harewood fits the bill.

Meanwhile, the Reds have turned down a 'six-figure' bid from Championship rivals Crystal Palace for winger Matty Done. The decision to reject the offer will have been made easier with the news that Done's fellow winger Jim O'Brien will be sidelined for eight weeks with a shoulder injury.

Also, Hill is interested in signing 38-year-old goalkeeper Carlo Nash. The Stoke stopper could be brought in as cover for the suspended Ben Alnwick and the injured Luke Steele.
