Barnsley sealed a comfortable 4-1 win in Dundalk last night.

The Reds were kick starting the League of Ireland Premier side’s pre-season off at their Oriel Park ground with Barnsley having no competitive action this weekend due to Wigan’s FA Cup involvement.

Dundalk took the lead when Ryan Towell smashed home from 25 yards following a punch out from Reds stopper Christian Dibble.

The Reds were not behind for long though when Tomasz Cywka curled home a delicious freekick.

Barnsley then took the lead when Danny Rose managed to sneak an effort under the Dundalk keeper.

The Reds  stretched their lead in the second half. Brek Shea played a lovely one-two on the edge of the area with Dale Jennings, before finishing low.

In injury time, Paul Digby then played a defence splitting pass for Jennings to run onto and finish.
