Barnsley are flying the flag for South Yorkshire in this season's League Cup. The Reds who beat Reading 2-1 on Tuesday to book a Third Round place for the first time in eight years are the only South Yorkshire side left in the competition.

Sheffield United, in the First Round and Sheffield Wednesday in the Second Round have both fallen to Port Vale, whilst Doncaster were hammered 5-1 at home by Premier League leaders Tottenham last night. Rotherham also exited last night, beaten 4-3 by West Brom after extra time.

Barnsley
, Leeds and if you class them as being in Yorkshire- Hull are the only Yorkshire teams heading into the Third Round.
