Reds Make Masters Semis

Barnsley came within penalty kicks of making the Grand Masters Final for the first time.

The reigning Yorkshire Masters had moved into a first ever semi-final by defeating QPR on penalties after a 3-3 draw, but after a 2-2 stalemate with Birmingham, Bruce Dyer missed the crucial spot-kick.

It is however, Barnsley’s best finish at a Masters. Last year they made their debut in the Grand Finals but were thumped 8-3 by Bolton in the Semis.

Birmingham would eventually win this year by defeating Tranmere 4-2 on penalties, after a 3-3 draw.
