Barnsley have seen their plans for tomorrow's home game with Southampton rocked after Premier League strugglers Derby County recalled in-form striker Jon Macken.

Macken has scored three goals in his last two games but Rams boss Paul Jewell invoked a 24 hour recall clause to bring him back to Pride Park late last night.

The Derby striking department has been laid threadbare and Robert Earnshaw suffered a thigh strain in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Liverpool which has led to Macken's return. Fellow ram Lewin Nyatanga is safe at Oakwell until after the Scunthorpe game on New Year's Day.

£400,000 Peruvian Miguel Mostto is now favourite to partner Istvan Ferenczi upfront tomorrow.

Meanwhile Premier League giants Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with German goalkeeper Heinz Muller!!

According to today's Daily Mirror:

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is in pole position to sign Barnsley goalkeeper Heinz Muller for £1million.

Muller joined from Lillestrom for £175,000 at the start of the season and has emerged as one of the best keepers outside the top flight.

Liverpool, Everton and Aston Villa have also been tracking the 29 year old who has a £1m release clause in his contract at Oakwell.

Oh well at least Jens Lehmann will now have a friend at Arsenal.... oh wait he doesn't get on with German rivals either does he!
