Reds Show International Class

Barnsley have received an international boost as three players have received recognition from their respective countries.

New loan recruit Peter Rajczi has been called up to the Hungary squad to face Cyprus in Nicosia on Tuesday 6th February.

Rajczi has scored 3 goals in 9 appearances for Hungary.

Hungary are currently 5th out of the 6 teams in European Championship Qualifying : Group C Table with a record of 1 win and 4 defeats from their opening 5 games.

Midfielder Grant McCann has been called up to Lawrie Sanchez's Northern Ireland squad for thier match with British rivals Wales at Windsor Park also on Tuesday 6th February

McCann has 7 caps for Northern Ireland since making his debut in 2003. His last one came in the 2-1 win in Finland back in August.

And whilst speaking of Wales, McCann's club-mate Kyle Letheren has been put on standby for the Welsh U21 squad to face their Northern Irish counterparts at the Oval on the same night.

Finally Reds No.1 Nick Colgan has again earned recognistion from the Republic of Ireland after being called up to Steve Staunton's latest squad to face San Marino on Wednesday 7th February 2007. With Shay Given and Paddy Kenny not in the squad Colgan could get a chance of action on the pitch.


In other news Anthony McParland has completed his permanent move to Wycombe Wanderers.
