The Reds have signed striker Daniel Nardiello on a one month loan from Manchester United in time to play against Blacjkpool tonight.

The 21-year-old has already made a handful of first team appearances for the Red Devils and had a brief spell on loan with Swansea last season.

He will wear squad number 19.

Reds boss Gudjon Thordarson told the official Barnsley FC website: “I would like to thank Sir Alex Ferguson for his help in allowing us to take Daniel on loan. We have discussed potential signings for several weeks and Sir Alex has kept us fully informed of the players he could allow out and who he would be happy to let come to Oakwell.

“He called us earlier this week and this signing is the outcome of that”.
