As has been widely expected, Barnsley have completed the signing of youngster Kern Miller after his contract with Lincoln City expired.

The 19 year old defender had been with the Imps since 2009 but made just one senior appearance – as a substitute , in a 2-0 away win against Accrington Stanley in April 2009. Miller’s most infamous moment during his short career was when he reportedly suffered a broken jaw on a night out in Blackpool in December.

Despite his lack of action Imps manager Steve Tilson was keen to extend the Boston born defender’s stay but The Reds have landed him.

Reds boss Mark Robins told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"Kern is player with a lot of potential. We are looking forward to helping him develop and hopefully fulfil that potential here at Barnsley. I am delighted that he has joined us".
