Reds Suffer Cranie Blow

Barnsley will be out their captain and first choice centre half Martin Cranie for at least three weeks after he suffered a tear in his hamstring just 11 minutes into Tuesday night’s 3-0 defeat by Leicester.

The 27 year old has played in 30 of Barnsley’s 34 Championship games this season and had been an ever present under Danny Wilson.

Wilson told the press today:

"He's got a tear in his hamstring from the tackle the other night. He'll be out for quite a few weeks - about three weeks I would expect."

Cranie’s fellow defensive partner Peter Ramage is also out of this weekend’s game with Watford with a hamstring problem but should be fit for the following week’s Oakwell clash with Bournemouth.
