Sky Sports has reported that the Reds are amongst a host of clubs trying to sign Blackburn's Irish winger Keith Treacy.
Treacy, an Irish U-21 international, has spent the first half of this season on loan with rivals Sheffield United and made 17 appearances for the Bramall Lane outfit. He has also spent time on loan with Stockport.
He has featured 22 times for Blackburn's first team in the Premier League but Rovers have told him he can move on with Middlesbrough and Hibernian reported to be interested.
The Blades are also considering whether to go back in for the winger, despite terminating his loan contract in mid-December.
