Reds to Face The Tigers

Barnsley will travel to Championship rivals Hull City in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup after the Tigers defeated League One Leyton Orient in their Third Round Replay last night.

A goal three minutes before the end of extra time from Tom Cairney saw Hull advance past the Third Round for only the second time in 24 years after Dean Cox had cancelled out a Nick Proschwitz opener for Hull three minutes from the end of the 90.

This is the second time Barnsley and Hull will have met in the competition with the only other time occurring in the 1957-58 season. They drew a Third Round tie 1-1 at Boothferry Park on the 4th January 1958, before Hull triumphed 2-0 in an Oakwell replay four days later. Hull though were eliminated in the next round by another South Yorkshire side, losing 4-3 at Sheffield Wednesday.

The tie this season will be played on Saturday 26th January 2013.
