Reds Trio In Weekend Delight

Robbie Williams played a pivotal role as Blackpool marched into the Championship by dominating Yeovil in the League One Play-Off Final.

Williams was at the Millennium Stadium last season when The Reds secured promotion but didn't feature... He certainly did at Wembley.

Williams who has been on loan with The Tangerines from Oakwell since March curled home a delightful free-kick, very similar to Nardiello's effort against Swansea, just before half-time to put Blackpool 1-0 before Keigan Parker curled home a stunner in the second half to secure a 2-0 win and make it an unhappy day for ex Oakwell trialist Arron Davies who was in the Yeovil team.

During his time with Blackpool Williams notched 5 goals in 10 games. The sort of form that has led Simon Davey to hint he may offer the Academy graduate a new contract.

Meanwhile Daniel Nardiello and Nick Colgan enjoyed international recognition yesterday.

Nardiello picked up his first cap for Wales when he came on as a second half substitute for Robert Earnshaw in a 2-2 draw with New Zealand at the Racecourse Ground whilst Nick Colgan made a rare start for the Republic of Ireland, his first since 2003 and only his 3rd in total and first whilst a Barnsley player, to earn his 7th cap in a 1-1 draw with Bolivia in Boston, America. Colgan was subbed at half-time with the scores at 1-1.
