The Reds have agreed personal terms with Northampton Town midfielder Paul Reid.
Reid (22) will be unveiled at a press conference on Friday. The transfer fee has not been disclosed but is thought to be around £100,000.
Reid has also played for Carlisle United, Glasgow Rangers and Preston North End.
