Left-back Robbie Williams is set to rejoin his former manager Andy Ritchie after Huddersfield Town had a fee agreed with The Reds today.
Williams whose last Barnsley appearance came in the horror 3-0 home defeat to arch rivals Sheffield Wednesday on 30th December has seen his contract run out at Oakwell but due to the player being under 24, Barnsley are due a fee.
Williams spent the second half of last season on loan at Blackpool, scoring in the Play-Off Final which saw them win promotion to the Championship, but Blackpool had a fee turned down by The Reds and Williams seems set to make the short journey to West Yorkshire.
Ritchie told the Official Huddersfield Town website:
"Robbie is exactly the type of player we need. He can play at left-back or left midfield."
Williams made 78 appearances for Barnsley, most coming under Ritchie, and scored 5 goals.
