Mark Robins' backroom trio consisting of assistant manager John Breckin and coaches Nick Daws and Steve Taylor have all today joined Barnsley FC.

This means the deal to bring Rotherham United manager Robins to Oakwell must be just around the corner.

Robins was put on gardening leave last Thursday to hold talks with the Reds board about the managerial gap left by Simon Davey who left the club on August 30th.

The the following day, Breckin, Taylor and Daws were also put on gardening leave to speak to Barnsley about following Robins to the club which today has been confirmed by a club statement:

BARNSLEY Football Club are delighted to announce that John Breckin, Nick Daws and Steve Taylor have taken up coaching positions at Oakwell today after a deal was agreed with Rotherham United over compensation.

A press conference was called for Monday 7th September to unveil Robins, but a disagreement over a compensation package meant the conference had to be postponed, but the revelation of the three backroom members taking up coaching positions at Oakwell must mean the deal to bring Robins to the club is close.
