Robins Ready To Throw Bucks In January

Barnsley could be set to spend in the January window after owner Patrick Cryne hinted manager Mark Robins’ fine start as manager has led him to be more open about splashing the cash.

The Reds have picked up 17 points in Robins 11 games in charge- winning five of them. A run which has lifted The Reds from bottom with just one point, to 15th, four points clear of the drop zone.

This has impressed Cryne who told the Sheffield Star:

"We've strengthened in areas where we were lacking and we'll support him.

Mark should expect the opportunity to make changes and impose himself on the club; he should expect to get a decent run. We'll give him good backing.”

One player who will not be coming however is highly-rated Rochdale man Will Buckley.

The 19 year old who has hit 14 goals in 47 starts for Dale was linked with a £500,000 move to Oakwell in various tabloids yesterday but Robins was quick to put that rumour to bed saying:

"There's no truth in the reports at all. He's a good player, but I've not shown any interest."

Robins did admit though that he would like to extend the loan deals of Ryan Shotton, Carl Dickinson and Nathan Doyle who must all return to their clubs when their 93 day loans end in mid December with Shotton keen to remain at Oakwell if first team football at Stoke is not forthcoming.
