Last updated : 01 July 2010 By Alastair Limb (tykesmad)

The Reds have made their fourth signing of the summer by bringing in Brighton striker Liam Dickinson on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old ended last season on loan at Peterborough and scored 3 goals in 9 game. His other experience at Championship level was at Blackpool where he bagged 4 goals in 9 games and earnt himself plenty of plaudits on the west coast.

He started out at Stockport, scoring 33 goals in 2 seasons, including a winner at Wembley in the League Two playoff final when the Hatters overcame Rochdale. He moved to Derby and spent time on loan with Huddersfield and Leeds as well as the afore mentioned Posh and Blackpool.

Reds boss Mark Robins spoke of his new signing:

"I am happy to have brought Liam into the football club. He is different to the strikers we have here already and will give us something else up front.

"He is only 24 and still has room for improvement and we are looking forward to working with him here. He has a decent scoring record both in the Championship and in the lower leagues and will be a good addition to our squad for the new season.

"Liam fits in to what we are trying to do here both in terms of on the pitch and within our budget".
