Ronnie Back On The Run

Ronnie Wallwork has featured in his first game of football since his horrific Manchester stabbing in November.

Wallwork was on loan at Oakwell from West Bromwich Albion when he was stabbed in the back and hands outside the Sugar Lounge club on the 30th November 2006 but he played the full 90minutes for West Brom's Reserves against Walsall yesterday.

Good to see you back Ronnie!!

Meanwhile goal-keeper Nick Colgan, who saw his 100th Reds appearance on Tuesday marred by a knee injury, has given the club a boost by declaring himself fit to face Stoke City on Monday night.

Simon Davey told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"Nick's injury has been assessed and the good news is that it is not as bad as we first thoughts. He should only miss a couple of days training which will put him back in contention for the Stoke City game".

Nick now only trails Antony Kay, Neil Austin, Bobby Hassell, Paul Reid and Daniel Nardiello in the Reds Appearance stakes of current players.

Colgan's return is a timely boost as Bobby Hassell will sit out the SKY date at the Britannia Stadium through suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card at Southampton last weekend. He picked up his sixth on Tuesday night.
