Barnsley have completed the signing of free agent midfielder John Rooney on a deal until the end of the season.
He agreed a deal with the Reds in principle last week, but due to red tape in the USA, the move was put on hold. But today it has been rubber stamped subject to Football League confirmation.
The 22-year-old has had a spell in England with Macclesfield Town before moving the the States and played for New York Red Bulls and Orlando City across the pond.
