ScrewFix Masters Grand Final

Yorkshire Masters Champions Barnsley are ready to take on the country tonight in the Grand Final of the Screwfix Masters.

The Reds got through to the Finals at Liverpool's Echo Arena by winning the Yorkshire Masters at the Sheffield Arena- defeating Hull, Leeds and then in the final, Sheffield Wednesday.

Tonight they are joined by the winners of the other local Masters competitions- Middlesbrough, Wolves, QPR, Tranmere, Celtic, Leicester and Bolton.

Barnsley
will face Bolton in the Quarter-Finals, with the winners taking on either Middlesbrough or QPR in the Grand Final.

There is one change to the Reds line-up from the Yorkshire heats- Neil Redfearn, captain in Barnsley's greatest period between 1996 and 1998 replaces another legend from that time- the injured Nicky Eaden.

There are also notable links with Barnsley in the other teams. Boro is packed with them. Goal-keeper Kelham O'Hanlon is the Reds current goalkeeping coach, Craig Hignett fired The Reds to the Play-Off Final in 1999-2000 whilst John Hendrie was a key player in getting The Reds to the Premier League in 1996-1997. Former target Dean Windass- who is currently playing in League Two for Darlington is also in the Boro team. Former Reds loanee Don Goodman is in the Wolves team.
