Season Ticket Prices Announced...

Last updated : 05 May 2005 By BarnsleyBoy
Barnsley F.C have today revealed the prices for matchday and season tickets for the 2005/2006 season.

Unfortunately  there is a slight increase in season ticket prices.
Reds Chairman Gordon Shepherd told the Official Site:

" Let me start with the bad news that season ticket prices will be slightly increased this year. It is not a decision that the Board of Directors have taken lightly and it gives is no pleasure in announcing it but an increase is a necessity. The good news is that we are still likely to be in the lower half of the League's pricing structure this coming season, as we were last campaign. In other words we will remain competitively priced when compared to our League One rivals.

"Two interesting observations are that almost all of the teams who charged higher prices than us during the current season are higher up the league table and our players' wage bill as a percentage of income is the highest in the division.

"We have also attempted to simplify the pricing structure by having fewer categories as we found that some types of season tickets had insufficient sales to justify a separate section.

"I do not intend to hype up our plans for next season just to entice supporters into buying a season ticket but I would like to assure fans that we are trying to bring in some new faces whom we hope will contribute to a more successful campaign on the pitch. We are also negotiating new contracts with some of our existing players. Obviously we will be trying our best to win promotion as we do every year.

"The really good news is that we still have a club, spending is being controlled and, I believe, you can now purchase your season ticket with confidence in the future financial stability of Barnsley FC.

"On behalf of all of us at the Club I appeal for your continued support and ask you to purchase your season ticket as soon as possible".
