Seven released by Barnsley

Barnsley have released seven out of contract players.

They are Mike Sheron, Leo Bertos, James Dudgeon, Richard Carrington, Calum Selby, Chris Cox and Grant Black.

Sheron is the highest-profile departure and the experienced striker made over 170 appearances for the club.

New contracts have already been offered to youngsters David Mulligan, Neil Austin, Rory Fallon and Griff Jones while Matt Ghent has been given a short-term deal.

Meanwhile talks with the out of contract Bruce Dyer, Mitch Ward and Carl Barrowclough will take place later this week.
