Interesting Stats

Barnsley have won four of their last six home meetings with Millwall, losing just one.

The Lions have won just six of 23 trips to Oakwell in total and just two of the last eight.

A win for Barnsley would tie up the head to head meetings at 19 wins apiece. If The Reds were to win 1-0 both teams would also have netted 70 goals against each other.

Home or away, Barnsley have lost just two of their last six clashes with Millwall, that includes a 1-0 defeat at the Den back in November.

Victory for Ian Holloway’s side would give them their first league double over Barnsley since 1993-1994, exactly 20 seasons ago.

This game brings together arguably the two most out of form sides in the division and to be honest, Barnsley MUST win if they are to harbour any hopes of remaining in the Championship for a ninth successive season.

The Lions sit fourth from bottom of the table; five points clear of 23rd Barnsley and four clear of third bottom Charlton.

Millwall have though managed just one win in their last 13 matches in all competitions, the exact same record as Barnsley, and that victory came on the same date for both sides- 18th January.

Both sides have gone five matches since their last wins.

Millwall have won just once on the road this season- at Charlton back in September and have managed to acquire just eight points away from the Den. Only Barnsley have a worse away record in the Championship this season.

They have conceded 34 times on the road this season, and 59 overall, both are the most in the division and their overall goal difference of –28 is also the Championship’s worst.

The Lions have been pretty toothless lately, they have scored once in five of their last six matches and have gone 13 matches since last netting more than once in a game.

It is five matches since Millwall last managed a clean sheet and they have just one in the last nine matches.
