Interesting Stats

These two sides have met only three times in history and it is all tied up at one win each and one draw, whilst both teams have scored three goals.

This will be only the second ever meeting at Yeovil and Barnsley lost the other one 2-1 back in 2005.

Yeovil have drawn each of their last three matches with the score-lines reading 3-3, 2-2, 1-1 but they have lost just two of their last 10 Championship games.

Before Yeovil’s midweek draw at Leicester, both they and Barnsley had seen their previous four wins all come on the same date. Barnsley finally ended that run by winning on Tuesday whilst Yeovil were pegged back in the last minute at the King Power Stadium.

Yeovil have lost just one of their last six home matches whilst Barnsley have won one of their last nine on the road.

However Gary Johnson’s men have managed just four victories at Huish Park this season, only Birmingham (2) have less home wins in the Football League.

And they have been defeated 10 times there, the joint highest in the Football League with Wycombe.

In the club’s short history within the Football League, they have NEVER before lost more than 10 home games in a single season.

They have also managed just 15 home goals, only Charlton (13) have a worse record in the Football League.

Along with Millwall, both Barnsley and Yeovil are locked on 32 points in the relegation zone. Both sides have won seven matches- although Yeovil have played a game more- and the Glovers have scored two more goals.
