Striker Onome Sodje has joined Blue Square Premier side Oxford United on a one month emergency loan to gain some first team football.

Sodje arrived at Oakwell in the summer on a free transfer but despite impressing in pre-season, has made just one first team appearance this season – in the 2-0 defeat to Coventry in August.

The 21 year old joins the Us, with them top of the table, five points clear of second place Stevenage.

Sodje has pedigree in the non league football having hit 24 goals in 94 appearances for York and 12 goals in 57s for Gravesend.
