Following last Saturdays excellent win for the reds away at Southampton. The supporters trust has been made aware of a couple of incidents relating to the game.
- The unfair and inconsistent treatment of fans inside the ground in connection with fans standing in the seating areas
- An attack on the official club supporters coach by a group of Southampton fans, after the game, resulting in damage to the coach. The trust have written to Southampton FC expressing their concerns at the lack of protection offered to Barnsley fans after the game, which allowed this unsavoury incident to escalate causing undue distress to our fans as well as the damage.
The trust is also in Contact with Hampshire and South Yorkshire Police forces and the Southampton FC Supporters' Trust, regarding this matter and will communicate the outcome of this enquiry in due course.
