I CANNOT give an exact date for completion but it will be as soon as possible. There is nothing that we know of that will stand in the way of completion taking place in the very near future.
Last week’s Council decision to join our Joint Venture Company that will be acquiring the stadium and surrounding land was welcome news. We now have five sets of lawyers working away frantically to produce completion documentation – mine, Patrick Cryne’s, the council’s, Sterling and Peter Doyle’s!
As soon as they produce the documentation everything else is in place to complete. Yes, including the money!
We have been grateful to Peter Doyle for allowing us to get into the club on a daily basis to run the new company. This has allowed us to meet with the Football League, the administrator and the PFA to ensure that upon formal completion emerging from administration will be a swift formality.
It has also allowed us to spend quality time with Gudjon Thordarson to plan his ongoing squad requirements and to talk to other clubs about which players might be available.
From time to time we will take the opportunity to keep all Barnsley supporters up to date. We will do this through the Official Website and other local media.
Patrick and I would like to thank everyone for their tremendous support and we all look forward to a bright future.
