Barnsley Football Club have decided not appeal against the red card shown to goalkeeper Luke Steele in the 6-1 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday, despite the Toon winger Peter Lovenkrands admitted he dived to earn the penalty that opened the floodgates.
This means Steele- who was sent off for the first time in his career at the weekend, will serve a one match ban and miss the visit of Crystal Palace this weekend. David Preece is set to deputise.
