The Reds have resigned goalkeeper Luke Steele on loan until July 2008, when he will sign a permanent deal.

Steele was present for the Reds two astonishing FA Cup giantkillings against Liverpool and Chelsea and was named Player Of The Fifth Round for his outstanding display at Anfield.

He spoke to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk following his move back to South Yorkshire:

"I am absolutely delighted to have things finished and looking forward to helping this club push on in the league and hopefully go even further in the cup.

"I am very, very happy today but even though it has been a tough week, I never, ever doubted that the deal would be done in the end and I would remain a Barnsley player.

"I think my time with West Brom was up really and we had different ideas. It was unfortunate that it did not work out there but now I have a great opportunity. I am delighted that it is a permanent deal at the end of the season and now I have security and a future at Barnsley.

"It has taken longer and I am a little disappointed that I have not been able to train at Barnsley this week but we have to put all that behind us and concentrate on getting three points this weekend.

"It will be even better this weekend because I know that I will be a Barnsley player for the long term now. We have to keep going and keep picking up points, starting against Sheffield United on Saturday".
