Tit For Tat Continues

The argument about Daniel Nardiello's move to QPR has rumbled on after the striker hit out at comments made by Reds Chairman Gordon Shepherd.

After Nardiello made a dramatic U-turn over signing a new contract at Oakwell, Shepherd told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"The Club are desperately disappointed at Daniel's late, late decision especially as the deal was all agreed and the paperwork ready on the table for his signature.

"We are also very unhappy at assurances given to us by the player that he would only consider leaving Oakwell for a Club closer to his home in the Midlands.

"As we had been hoping to announce Daniel's signature this afternoon, we feel that we have no alternative but to inform our supporters of the events and we are sure that they will share our deep disappointment at the way we have been treated today".

But now Nardiello has had his say by telling BBC Radio Sheffield:

"It's not as black and white as he's trying to make out,"

"I' suppose I have to take his comments on the chin, but I'm disappointed with what the Barnsley chairman has said.

"He's made promises to me in the past and not kept them, but I never made a fuss and just got on with things.

"I didn't like the way he treated my mate Chris Shuker a couple of seasons ago either."

BarnsleyBoy says:

In my opinion Danny should keep his trap shut and hop it before he blackens his reputation at Oakwell even more.

At the end of the day the lure of my money made him turn around on the motorway, its just a pity he cant accept it.
