Trouble Brewing At Oakwell

Reds Boss Andy Ritchie has gone public with his frustration at the Oakwell Board over stalled contract talks.

Just a couple of weeks ago it was thought Ritchie would have a new two year contract signed within days but it has now emerged that Chairman Gordon Shepherd has broken off contract negotiations for "the foreseeable future".

Ritchie told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"The chairman told me there are no immediate plans to talk about my contract and won't be in the foreseeable future.

"But given what was said a month ago I'm very disappointed."

Only last week Shepherd voiced his concerns at the lack of new signings live on Radio Sheffield and now Ritchie's retaliation leaves it to be seem whether the two men can still work together. With The Reds stuck in 23rd place in the Championship, a point adrift of safety, everybody needs to pull together, especially chairman and manager! Without this co-operation League One football could making an unwanted return come May.
