The Reds have sealed their seventh signing of the summer so far by capturing former Arsenal, Spurs and Wolves winger Rohan Ricketts on a free transfer. Ricketts had been on trial with the Reds and impressed in the weekend's friendly with League 2 newcomers Morecambe.

Ricketts, 24, began his career with Arsenal but never made an appearance for Arsene Wenger's men. He made the forbidden move from Arsenal to Spurs in 2002 and made thirty appearances for Spurs and scored once. During his Tottenham days he had a short loan spell with opening day opponents Coventry City making 6 appearances. He then signed for Wolves in 2005, overall he turned out 51 times in two seasons, scoring once. He had a spell on loan at QPR towards the back end of last season, playing twice.

Rohan becomes Simon Davey's seventh summer signing, nearly four times the amount of players Ritchie signed last summer. He joins Kayode Odejayi, Miguel Mostto, Dominik Werling, Rob Kozluk, Andy Johnson and Marciano Bruma at Oakwell.
