Howdy guys.
With 3 weeks to go until the start of the 2008-2009 Football League season it is time to start our 2008-2009 Fantasy Football Tournament.
After last year's debut success 55% of you wanted it to continue and so it shall.
There are a few changes however and changes that were first put forward by charliebrowns which I thought were good ideas.
So as well as the usual points scoring which I will post below there will also be additions of:
Manager of the Month: The manager whose team gains most points in a month will receive an additional five points.
Top goal Scorer of the Month: The team which contains the highest goal-scorer that month will gain an additional five points.
Top Goal Scorer of the Season: The team which contains the highest goal scorer of the season within the pool of players selected in each team will receive an additional 20 points.
Golden Gloves: The team which contains the goalkeeper who keeps the most clean sheets will receive
Team of the Week. If any of your players are picked in the Football League's Official Team of the Week on the Football League website, you will receive an additional five points for each player who is selected.
These will add on to the original rules and regulations which are as follows:
Formations Allowed:
4-4-2
4-3-3
3-4-3
3-5-2
5-3-2
4-2-4
When naming your team please indicate which formation you are using.
The points system is simple, and easy to follow. It is as follows
Points System
Scoring:
Striker: 1 point
Midfielder: 2 points
Defender: 3 points
Goalkeeper: 6 points.
Scoring goals DOES NOT include own goals they will be counted as conceding!
Goal/Keeper Clean Sheet : 3 points
Defender Clean Sheet: 2 points
Each goal a keeper lets in: -1 point
Yellow Card: -1 point
Red Card: -3 points
There is no budget so you can pick as many class Championship players as you want, but remember, no more than two players from the one side, that way it makes it more of a challenge. Teams can be picked from 20th July 2008. You can continue to change your team until the 31st of August 2008 so you are able to pick up on all the latest transfers.
